Common Challenges

Have CNC-milled parts manufactured with precision

In CNC milling, material is precisely removed from the workpiece using rotating tools. This allows surfaces, contours, holes, and more complex geometries to be produced according to technical specifications.

For industrial clients, it is particularly important that the component geometry, material, tolerances, and any necessary follow-up work are all in harmony.

Our CNC manufacturing is designed precisely for this purpose.

We manufacture custom parts based on drawings using machining centers from leading machine tool manufacturers and employ 3-, 4-, or 5-axis machining depending on the component.

Our capabilities are suitable for both simple milled parts and workpieces that require machining on multiple sides, at different angles, or across additional functional areas. I

Individual parts, small-batch production, and medium-sized production runs

Many components in mechanical engineering are not required in large production runs.

When it comes to special-purpose machines, new designs, or custom systems, the focus is often on a single component, a small quantity, or a recurring small production run.

Our machinery is designed to meet these needs.

Among other things, we handle:
This means you can contact us whether you need a single milled part or have recurring orders.

Our Capabilities in CNC Milling

We have a variety of CNC machining centers available for machining your drawings.

Depending on the workpiece, we can machine using 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining. This allows us to efficiently manufacture even more complex components with multiple machining surfaces.

Our maximum machining dimensions for CNC milling:
The machining strategy best suited for your part depends, among other factors, on its geometry, material, tolerances, and quantity.

CNC MILLING AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL

3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling

Not every milled part has the same machining requirements. Depending on the geometry, standard 3-axis machining may be sufficient, or an additional fourth or fifth axis may be advisable.
3-Axis Milling
In 3-axis milling, the tool moves along the three linear axes: X, Y, and Z. This process is suitable for numerous standard milling tasks, such as machining flat surfaces, pockets, contours, hole patterns, and grooves. In addition, 3-axis milling can also be used to easily produce simple prismatic components.

4-Axis Milling
An additional axis expands machining capabilities and can enable the machining of multiple sides of a workpiece within a single clamping setup. This is particularly useful for components that require machining on different peripheral or side surfaces.

5-Axis Milling
Our production facility also offers 5-axis machining capabilities. Depending on the component, this allows for the realization of more complex geometries and the machining of multiple surfaces in a coordinated manufacturing process.
The actual shaft configuration required is not determined solely by the complexity of a component. The decisive factors are the drawing, accessibility, clamping method, tolerances, and the most cost-effective manufacturing process.

What materials can we CNC mill?

We process a variety of metallic materials as well as engineering plastics.
The materials we process include, in particular:
Steel andTool Steel
We machine various types of steel and tool steel in accordance with the technical requirements of each workpiece.

Stainless Steel
We also machine stainless steel parts.

Aluminum
Aluminum and various aluminum alloys can be used for numerous applications in mechanical engineering and drive technology.

Brass
We also machine brass on our CNC machines.

Castings
Workpieces made of cast materials can also be milled.

Engineering Plastics
In addition to metallic materials, we process various plastics, including, for example, POM, PEEK, and PA.
Based on your inquiry, we will determine which material is suitable for your application and whether a specified material can be processed using the desired manufacturing method.

CNC Milling and Other Machining Services from a Single Source

A milled part is often not yet completely finished after milling.

Depending on the design, operations such as turning, gear cutting, grooving, grinding, or other machining steps may be necessary.

Dittler GmbH therefore combines different manufacturing processes within a single company.

Our manufacturing capabilities include:
This allows us to coordinate multiple processing steps depending on the component.

For you, this means: Instead of requesting just a single milling operation, you can provide us with the specifications for the finished part as shown in the drawing.

We will then determine which machining steps can be incorporated into our manufacturing process.
Combining Milling and Gear Cutting
One of Dittler GmbH’s particular strengths lies in the combination of traditional CNC machining and gear cutting technology.

If a component requires gear teeth in addition to milled functional surfaces, the necessary machining steps can be combined accordingly.

For gear cutting, options such as gear hobbing and gear shaping are available, among others.
Surface and Heat Treatments
Through our network of experienced suppliers, we can also incorporate various downstream processing steps.
These include, for example:
Laser marking is also an option.

CNC-Milled Parts for Mechanical Engineering and Industry

Our CNC milling services are aimed primarily at industrial clients and companies in the mechanical engineering sector.

Typical requirements arise, for example, in the following areas:
The specific parts that can be manufactured depend on the component geometry, material, dimensions, and technical requirements.

Especially for more complex parts based on drawings, it may be advisable to choose a manufacturing partner that offers more than just CNC milling.

If your part also needs to be turned, gear-cut, slotted, or ground, multiple manufacturing steps can be incorporated into a coordinated process.

Quality Assurance for Precision CNC-Milled Parts

A milled part must not only have the correct geometry. It is crucial that the agreed-upon dimensions and technical requirements are met.

Dittler GmbH’s quality management system is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.

We have a physically separate measuring room for in-process and final inspections. There, we inspect components using, among other tools, a 3-coordinate measuring machine from Zeiss. This enables us to verify the 3D dimensional accuracy of workpieces and support ongoing quality control.

We can also prepare measurement reports and initial sample inspection reports according to your specifications.

Reproducible quality is a central component of our manufacturing process, particularly for small-batch production and recurring manufacturing orders.
