How We Work and Why Customers Stay with Us
This is evident in our everyday lives:
We carefully review every drawing before we begin
We address problems early on—not after production is complete
We suggest alternatives when there's a simpler or more reliable way to do something
We think in terms of future use, not just in terms of manufacturing
For our customers, this means:
Fewer follow-up questions
Less rework
Less Downtime

History of Gear Production: From Founding to the Present
1999
Founded as GDP Verzahnungstechnik with a focus on gear cutting
2000–2008
Expansion of the machinery fleet and relocation to Straubenhardt; further development into today's Dittler GmbH
2009–2017
Expansion to include CNC turning, milling, and 5-axis machining; investments in software, measuring machines, and manufacturing technology
2017–present
Expansion of vertical integration and specialization in complex gear teeth; focus on individual parts, small production runs, and custom solutions

About Our Collaboration and Manufacturing Processes
Specifically, what types of gears and gear teeth do you manufacture?
We manufacture a wide range of gears, including spur gears, internal gears, spline shafts, and special shapes such as non-circular gears and elliptical gears. We are frequently asked to produce complex geometries or special tooth profiles.
What is the typical process for a request for CNC machining or gear manufacturing?
In most cases, we receive a technical drawing. Based on that, we assess feasibility, the manufacturing process, and potential optimizations. You will then receive clear feedback and a quote.
What happens if a drawing presents technical problems?
Then we address the issue openly. We suggest alternatives that work from a technical standpoint and are often more cost-effective as well. Our goal is not simply to manufacture, but to deliver a functional result.
Can existing components or gears also be replaced?
Yes. Especially when it comes to replacement parts or older machines, we manufacture components based on samples or adapt existing solutions.
In which industries do you work within the mechanical engineering sector?
Our customers come from a variety of sectors, including mechanical engineering, the automotive industry, construction and agricultural machinery, and industrial plants.
How flexible are you when it comes to short-term projects?
Our organizational structure allows us to respond quickly. When the situation is critical, we prioritize projects accordingly and find solutions to keep your business running.
What role does CNC machining play in your manufacturing process?
CNC turning and milling are central components of our work. Many components are machined entirely in-house, which gives us greater independence and speeds up our processes.
